Local mode
If you are using
local mode, the server_region_libpath environment
variable must point to the bin directory of the CICS® Transaction Gateway installation. 
To set this environment variable on WebSphere® Application Server:- Navigate to .
- Under Server Infrastructure, click .
- If a LIBPATH entry exists, then edit the existing value, otherwise click New to add a new entry with name LIBPATH and set its value to the full path of the CICS Transaction Gateway <install path>/bin directory, for example: /usr/lpp/cicstg/ctg910/bin.

For a local mode topology, the CICS Transaction
Gateway environment variables are specified using the WebSphere Administration Console:
- CTG_EXCI_INIT determines whether or not EXCI is loaded (default
is YES if undefined). If EXCI is required, you must also set the STEPLIB
environment variable. You can also set CTG_PIPE_REUSE and DFHJVPIPE:
- STEPLIB identifies the library containing the default EXCI options and the EXCI load modules (mandatory).
- CTG_PIPE_REUSE determines how allocated EXCI pipes are reused (optional but recommended).
- DFHJVPIPE defines the name of the pipe that CICS Transaction Gateway uses for EXCI calls (optional but recommended).
