Enabling audit service

The audit service is being introduced for customers who are required to comply with new Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.

Before you begin

Before you enable the audit service, make sure that all functions that are reserved for JazzAdmins users are logged. You cannot modify the resulting audit files from the user interface.

About this task

Each application has its own instance of the audit feature, so audit logs are created per application. The audit feature must be enabled in each app that the user wants to audit. Most logs are in the logs directory. However, the audit directory is created separately to allow the user to place their own strict file system restrictions on that directory and prevent modification of the logs. A log is created each day, enabling the user to set up their own method for backing up the files daily to other storage.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://hostname:port/rm/admin. Change rm for any other CLM applications such as qm and am.
  2. Go to Server > Advanced Properties.
  3. In the service com.ibm.team.repository.service.audit.AuditService, add the character * in the Current Value field and click Save.
  4. To view the Audit Rest Service page, click https://hostname:port/rm/audit.
  5. In the name column, click files. The following log table displays.
  6. In the view column of the log table, click view against the log for which you want to see the details.
