Uninstalling manually on IBM i

If the uninstallation program is not present or a stopped installation did not create a complete and functional uninstallation program, you can manually uninstall IBM® WebSphere® Portal Express®.

About this task

Complete the following steps to manually uninstall WebSphere Portal Express:

Procedure

  1. Run the following tasks to stop the servers:
    • stopServer WebSphere_Portal -username admin_userid -password admin_password, from the wp_profile_root/bin directory
    • stopServer cw_profile -profileName cw_profile -username admin_userid -password admin_password, from the AppServer_root/bin directory
  2. Verify that there are no other installations or uninstallations running.
  3. Uninstall WebSphere Application Server
  4. Delete the /tmp/iseries directory, which is a temporarily copied IBM i WebSphere Application Server install image during the WebSphere Application Server installation, if you ran the installation using a remote Windows workstation.
  5. Remove the WebSphere Portal Express created DB2® database library using "dltlib QWP800". Run "wrklib WPX8*" to see a list of all remaining WebSphere Portal Express created DB2 database libraries. Then use PF4 to delete them.
  6. Delete the PortalServer_root directory tree and the wp_profile_root directory tree.
  7. Optional: After uninstalling WebSphere Portal Express and WebSphere Application Server, you can also delete Installation Manager. Run the ./uninstallc command, located in the qibm/userdata/InstallationManager/uninstall directory.
