Installing InfoSphere® Big Match for
Hadoop on
Hortonworks Data Platform or IBM® Open
Platform is supported only for fixpack release 11.4.0.3 of Big Match.
Consider the following requirements as you prepare to install
Big Match into
your Hadoop environment.
- Ambari-Server should be installed and running.
- Hortonworks or IBM Open
Platform must be installed using Ambari, and should be up and running.
- Download and install Apache Derby in a folder that is accessible
by the user ID that will be installing Big Match.
You must install the Apache Derby Bin release that contains derby
script tools. (For more information about Apache Derby, see related
links at the end of this topic.)
- Download the IBM WebSphere® Liberty runtime .jar file,
version 8.5.5.4 or later. You must provide the path to this JAR during
the Big Match installation.
(For more information on WebSphere Liberty,
see the related links at the end of this topic.)
- If not already installed, add the EPEL Repository to every host
in the cluster by running the following commands on each node.
(For more information on EPEL, see the related links.)
sudo wget http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
sudo rpm -ivh epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
Note: This step
is required for the installer to work as it uses the python-requests
package and dependent libraries. The python-requests package and dependent
libraries are available in the EPEL repository.
- The xsltproc and xmllint tools must be installed and in the path.
- Make sure that the default ports that are used by InfoSphere Big Match for
Hadoop won't
conflict with any ports you have assigned for other uses. See the
subtopic for more detail.
