MDM Workbench preferences

After you have installed the MDM Workbench, you can customize the layout and the visibility of functional areas of your workspace in order to facilitate your configuration, customization, and development of InfoSphere® MDM.

Access the preferences that you can set for MDM Workbench by clicking Window > Preferences > Master Data Management.

The available preferences for you to set for InfoSphere MDM specifically are:
Application Location
The Application Location field augments the target platform path that the MDM Workbench uses to resolve references to classes and development models. Use this section to select or set the location of the application that you are customizing:
  • Installed application: selected by default; if you have more than one installed package, you can choose from among them by clicking Change.
  • File system: select this to browse to a specific application location directory
Code Generation
When you generate artifacts from a development model, the MDM Workbench scans the workspace to clean up redundant files to reduce, if possible, the number of files to only those that are necessary. This section allows you to control this process:
  • Delete redundant files before code generation
  • Prompt before deleting any redundant files
  • Delete all redundant files without prompting
  • Only prompt if deleting customised redundant files

For additional information on code cleanup and maintenance, see Maintenance of code in the workspace.

Configuration Editor
  • Default view: select Expert or Basic
  • Algorithm
    • Set palette tool selection sticky
    • Use classic functions
    • Swimlane width
Server Login
Show login confirmation dialog: selected by default. Clear this checkbox if you don't want to have the login confirmation dialog appear
Note: If you want to reset the MDM Workbench workspace, see madconfig utility targets for InfoSphere MDM for more information.
