InfoSphere MDM Physical to Virtual MDM Publisher Sample

The InfoSphere® MDM Physical to Virtual MDM Publisher Sample enables you to publish the Party data in your source InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition physical style MDM instance to your target InfoSphere MDM Standard Edition virtual style MDM instance. You can synchronize data from multiple source instances to a single target instance.

This sample presumes that you will use a test environment.

Overview

This sample leverages behavior extension capability by capturing Party changes in the source physical style MDM instance and then uses the Event Management component to synchronize the changes into a single virtual style MDM instance. Party changes include addition, update, and deletion.

For synchronization, the following options are supported:
Near Real Time synchronization
In this option, the target virtual style MDM instance is updated asynchronously as soon as the Party updates are finished in the source physical style MDM instance.
Offline synchronization
In this option, Party updates are accumulated in the Event Manager’s process control and process action tables. Synchronization requires explicit administrative decision. For this to happen, the Event Manager administrator must initiate processing for all the accumulated processes for the configured event category in this sample. This synchronization may be done on a regular basis, for example, on a nightly basis.
In order to use this sample, you must have the following existing setup:
  • Source instance: InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition v11.0 or later
  • Target instance: InfoSphere MDM Standard Edition v11.0 or later with the default Party model deployed
