You can remove a wire between two widgets so that the event from the source widget no
longer triggers the event in the target widget.
About this task
A widget uses a wire to communicate with another widget. To remove this communication, remove the
wire between the two widgets.
Procedure
To remove a wire:
- Select Edit Page from the menu in the page name tab.
- Do one of the following:
- Select Edit Wiring from the edit page toolbar.
- On the source widget, select the widget menu icon and then select Edit
Wiring. The Widget Wiring window opens with focus on the widget and the wiring it has
with other widgets on the page.
- Hover over the wire you want to remove until the remove wire button displays on the wire. Click
the button. The Widget Wiring window removes the wire. If the wire you removed was the only one
connecting the two widgets, the Widget Wiring window also removes the widget that does not have
focus.
- You can remove other wires (inbound and outbound) from the widget in focus. To change the focus
to another widget, select it in the diagram or from the Show wires for list.
- When you have completed removing wires, click Update wiring.
- Click Finish.
