Named queries

You can define named queries, and then call these queries from any of the WSRR APIs.

As part of the named query definition, you specify the name that identifies the query, and the XPath query expression.

Named queries are similar to predefined persisted queries (see the Related link for details); the difference is that named queries are maintained as part of the configuration profile, and they can therefore be created, modified, and deleted by an administrator, by using either the Web UI or administration scripts.

You define a named query by creating a named query configuration file, which you then load into WSRR. This configuration file, and the ways in which you can load and modify it, are described in the following subtopics:
