Updating WSRR system user and password settings

You might want to periodically change settings for WSRR system user IDs and passwords.

About this task

The ServiceRegistry application is configured within the WebSphere Application Server with certain user IDs and passwords. These user IDs are used for WSRR server-side task execution, and for authentication access to WSRR resources. The user IDs include:

The ServiceRegistry RunAs user role.
WSRR J2C Authentication Aliases for access to JMS, JDBC, SIBus and Business Space resources.

You might need to update the details of these users from time to time, for example, if your organization has a policy of regular password changes.

Procedure

To update the ServiceRegistry RunAs user ID, complete the following steps:
1. Login to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, and select Applications > WebSphere enterprise applications > ServiceRegistry.
2. Select User RunAs roles from the Detail Properties section.
3. Update the selected security realm user ID and password.
4. Select OK.
5. Restart the server.
To update the WSRR J2C authentication aliases, complete the following steps:
1. Login to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, and select Security > Global security.
2. Open Java Authentication and Authorization Service and select J2C authentication data to view the collection of configured authentication aliases.
3. Configure each of the following aliases with the updated user or password details:
  - ACTDB_Auth_Alias (WSRR Activity Logging JDBC authentication alias)
  - BSpace_JDBC_Alias (Business Space authorization alias)
  - POLDB_Auth_Alias (WSRR Policy Analytics JDBC authentication alias)
  - WSRR JMS Alias (WSRR JMS authentication alias)
  - WSRRDB_Auth_Alias (WSRR JDBC authentication alias)
  - WSRRME01_Auth_Alias (WSRR SIB JDBC authentication alias)
4. Apply your changes.
5. Restart the server.
