Replication installation and customization for z/OS
Use this information along with the program directory to successfully install and configure the Q Replication and SQL Replication technologies in IBM® InfoSphere® Data Replication for DB2® for z/OS®.
- Overview of replication and publishing for z/OS
On the z/OS operating system, you can replicate data and publish data to external applications by using the Q Replication and SQL Replication technologies in InfoSphere Data Replication for DB2 for z/OS. - Preparing an HFS data set
Before you install the base FMID, you must allocate and mount an HFS data set. - Configuring z/OS for replication and publishing
After you install a product, you must configure z/OS to support the replication and publishing programs. - Configuring DB2 for z/OS for Q Replication and Event Publishing
Q Replication and Event Publishing for z/OS require you to set parameters, authorize user IDs to run statements in DB2 for z/OS, and bind packages into specific plans. - Data set allocation for replication logs
You should allocate a large data set for replication logs before you start a Q Capture or Q Apply program on z/OS. - Configuring IBM MQ for Q Replication and Event Publishing
The Q Replication and Event Publishing programs use IBM MQ queues to transport data. - Products required to administer replication Version 10.2.1
To get the correct level of the Replication Center or ASNCLP command-line program to administer the Q Replication and SQL Replication technologies in InfoSphere Data Replication for DB2 for z/OS Version 10.2.1, you must use DB2 Connect™ or the IBM Data Server Client Version 10.1 Fix Pack 4, Version 10.5 Fix Pack 3, or later. - When replication requires table space REORG after ALTER TABLE (z/OS)
Q Replication and SQL Replication support automatic replication of the ALTER TABLE ADD COLUMN and ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN SET DATA TYPE operations, but for tables on Db2 for z/OS before Version 12 in some cases you must perform a REORG operation on the table space. - Optional: Enabling the replication administration tools to work with IBM MQ on z/OS
You can enable the Replication Center and ASNCLP command-line program to list, select, and validate IBM MQ queues that are needed for Q replication and publishing. To do so, you run an optional sample job that creates a stored procedure on the subsystems where the replication programs run. - Using the Replication Center on z/OS
The Replication Center is a graphical user interface for configuring and administering replication and event publishing. This tool is provided with InfoSphere Data Replication for DB2 for z/OS, and to use it you might need to perform one or more configuration steps. - Data sets created for replication and publishing products
The replication and publishing products create data sets on the z/OS systems where they are installed. - Example environment setup for replication and publishing on z/OS
Use the example environment variable definitions and output from the ls -la command to verify your replication and event publishing environment. - Time zone codes for the TZ environment variable
Use time zone codes as values for the TZ environment variable. - DB2 authorizations required by replication and publishing on z/OS
The authorization IDs that own or run the replication and Event Publishing packages and plans on z/OS require certain authorities and privileges. - DB2 packages and plans for replication and event publishing on z/OS
The replication and publishing programs use several package collections and plans.
