What's new in the InfoSphere Data Replication Dashboard Version 10.1 Fix Pack 2

The following enhancements are available in the IBM® InfoSphere® Data Replication Dashboard Version 10.1 Fix Pack 2.

New mobile version of the dashboard
The mobile dashboard displays the status of replication objects in a monitoring group, and you can drill down to identify the specific object having a problem, view diagnostic data, reset alerts, and start Q subscriptions. You can also refresh dashboard monitoring data on demand. You access the mobile version with the same URL; when you log in, the dashboard server detects the device type and takes you to the mobile version if you are logging in from a smart phone. You can switch between the two versions. Among the features offered by the mobile dashboard:
  • Health summary: Select a monitoring group and the Summary view shows overall status for programs, queues, Q subscriptions, queue depth, latency, exceptions, and messages, with the ability to drill down on problem details.
  • Programs: From this view, you can see which replication servers are inactive
  • Queues: From this view, you can see which queues are inactive.
  • Subscriptions: You can quickly determine which Q subscriptions are inactive and start them with the tap of a button.
  • Queue depth: The Queue Depth Alerts view displays the latest alert per data direction for every queue that has a queue depth alert. Tap an alert entry in the view to see a graph of the queue depth trend for a time range (15-90 minutes) prior to the point of alert, and also alert details.
  • Latency: The Latency Alerts view displays the latest alert per data direction for every queue that has a latency alert. Tap an alert entry in the view and you see a latency history graph with indicators for Q Capture latency, queue latency, and Q Apply latency, and also alert details.
  • Messages: You can view the most recent error or warning message for each replication program, or view up to five messages at a time and click for the full message details.
  • Exceptions: The Exceptions view shows the latest exception for each data direction in the monitoring group or up to five recent exceptions, also allowing you to view a separate details page for each exception.
The mobile version of the dashboard supports iOS 4.x or later and Android 2.2 or later, and is supported by the default web browser for the mobile device.
Dashboard sends alerts for memory usage, large transactions
The Alert Manager feature of the dashboard has been extended with new alert conditions for memory usage and large transactions. Alert Manager sends alerts to one or more email addresses when a threshold is exceeded or an event occurs. You can now specify that email alerts be sent when the amount of memory that is being used by the Q Capture or Q Apply program exceeds a threshold. The transaction size alert warns you when the Q Capture program encounters a large transaction. You set the threshold by starting Q Capture with the warntxsz parameter set to a positive integer value in megabytes (MB). Q Capture issues multiple warning messages (resulting in multiple dashboard alerts) for very large transactions.
Set thresholds and notifications for queue depth alerts at a queue level
You can now set up email notifications for the queue depth alert condition at the queue level. Rather than having to set a single alert threshold for all receive queues in a configuration, you can specify different thresholds for each receive queue. The dashboard sends an email alert when the number of message on the queue or the percentage fullness of the queue exceeds the threshold that you set.
Invoke asntdiff on DB2® source databases on Windows XP from the dashboard
You can now invoke the asntdiff table compare utility from the dashboard if the source database is on DB2 for Windows XP Version 9.7 Fix Pack 4 or higher as well as on Linux and AIX® (any version). The dashboard allows you to select a Q subscription and issue the asntdiff command to compare the data in the source and target tables.
