What's new in the InfoSphere Data Replication Dashboard Version 10.1 Fix Pack 1

The following enhancements are available in the IBM® InfoSphere® Data Replication Dashboard Version 10.1 Fix Pack 1.

New Alert Manager sends email notifications
The dashboard can now send alerts to one or more email addresses when a threshold is exceeded or an event occurs. You can specify that email alerts be sent when latency or queue depth exceed a threshold, when the replication programs stop, when an exception occurs at the target server, or when the programs issue error or warning messages. The new feature allows you to customize events, for example letting you choose whether to be alerted only for exceptions that were applied or not applied, or to be alerted for certain types of messages and not for other messages. You can also limit the number of email alerts that each contact receives and specify blackout periods during which no email alerts are sent, for example during maintenance shutdown periods. When you enable email alerts, the dashboard server continues running in the background even after browser windows are closed, monitoring the servers in your configurations and issuing alert notifications when conditions are met.
Run the asntdiff table compare utility from the dashboard
You can now invoke the asntdiff utility from the dashboard to compare data in source and target tables for potential differences. You select a Q subscription from the Subscriptions table, specify asntdiff parameters, and then the dashboard issues the command. The dashboard displays a message when the command completes. For long-running compare jobs, you can close your browser window and when you log in to the dashboard again the asntdiff completion message displays. From the message, you can open a results page that summarizes and details the differences found between the tables. You can email or print the results page. The utility can be invoked for DB2® source tables on Linux or UNIX.
More customization and additional data on Subscriptions tab
The Subscriptions tab, from which you can view the status of and perform actions on Q subscriptions, offers several new customization features. You can:
  • View Q subscriptions from all configurations in your monitoring group on a single page. This feature enables you to search across or filter all Q subscriptions in the group and select a large group of Q subscriptions to perform actions such as starting or stopping.
  • Select which columns you want to view in the subscriptions table and save this view for your next session.
  • View cardinality information for the source and target tables that are part of a Q subscription, and also the number of partitions for source tables.
  • Hide the filters, leaving more space to show Q subscriptions.
Filter Health Summary information by queues
You can now filter the information that displayed in the Health Summary tab by queues so that only information from selected queues appears.
Historical data for queue depth
The historical data for end-to-end latency now also shows queue depth over time.
Open the dashboard from Tivoli® Enterprise Portal
GDPS/Active-Active users who monitor replication statistics with Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) can view more detailed performance and health information by opening the dashboard from within TEP. To open the dashboard from TEP, you create a launch definition that includes the URL of an installed dashboard.
Log in to dashboard without using a password
Dashboard users with the administrator role can now specify that some or all users do not require a password to log in. When this option is enabled, specified users can enter their user ID and log in to the dashboard; no password will be required.
