You can back up and restore your Exchange Server data by using the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or the command-line interface. If
required, you can manage your Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange
installations remotely.
Starting the Microsoft Management Console
After you complete the configuration process, start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to protect your Exchange
Server data.
Determining managed storage capacity
You can track the capacity of managed storage assets, which can be useful as you plan
your storage requirements during license renewal.
Backing up Exchange data
By using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service
(VSS), you can back up Exchange Server data and mount the backup if required.
Restoring databases
You can restore an Exchange Server database backup to a
recovery database or to an alternate (or relocated) database.
You can also restore a replicated database copy in a Database
Availability Group (DAG).
Restoring mailbox data
In environments that run Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and later
versions, you can use the Data Protection for Microsoft Exchangemailbox restore feature to run individual
mailbox and item-level recovery operations.
Viewing, printing, and saving reports
You can access reports on recent activity and historical managed capacity. You can
determine which licenses and software are installed.
