To verify connectivity to the CIMOM, complete the following steps:
If your backup or restore fails, check the IBMVSS.log file. If the failure is from a CIMOM failure, the log displays output similar to the following example:

value of 0 means that it was successful. To determine why it failed,
look at the log files. The files are generated by the CLI or graphical
user interface (GUI), depending on how you run your operation. The
log files might provide more information about the failure.If the failure seems to be for a different reason than a CIMOM failure, verify your configuration. Run the latest support levels of the software for SAN Volume Controller, Storwize V7000, or DS8000.
