IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, Version 7.1

FMV5032W

Active object not found

Explanation

An attempt was made to expire an object, but the server was unable to find an active backup version of the object. This message is preceded by message FMV1228E which specifies the object name. For instance, this message could be issued if two separate client processes are backing up the same file system at the same time. If one of the processes expires a file, then the server will make that file inactive. If the second process subsequently attempts to expire that same file, the server will not find an active version of the file, so the second process will issue this message for that file.

System action

The object is not expired. Processing continues with the next object..

User response

Review the console output, schedule log, or error log and locate the FMV1228E message that immediately precedes this message. FMV1228E will identify the object that could not be expired. Examine the conditions under which the problem occurred and assess whether those conditions explain the occurrence of this message. For example, this message could appear if multiple instances of the client were attempting to back up the file system concurrently. If the reason this message occurred can not be determined and the message occurs when the operation is tried again, then contact support for further assistance. Also try searching for this message number on http://www.ibm.com for possible solutions.
