PowerKVM prerequisites
View the prerequisites for using IBM® Cloud Manager with OpenStack with PowerKVM.
IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack supports IBM PowerKVM compute nodes. PowerKVM compute nodes must be hosts; nested virtual machines are not supported.
The PowerKVM host must
satisfy the following requirements:
- Operating system: IBM_PowerKVM release 2.1.0, 2.1.1, and 3.1.0
- Hardware: Power8 Server with the PowerKVM hypervisor configured.
Note: For IBM Cloud
Manager with OpenStack 4.3, fix pack
4, package pysnmp is required. The pysnmp package
is provided by the IBM PowerKVM 2.1.x
repository rather than IBM Cloud
Manager with OpenStack. Before you
deploy a PowerKVM compute
node, you must configure the ibm_powerkvm2.1.x update repository.
Alternatively, if you cannot connect to the internet from the PowerKVM compute
node, you can manually install the pysnmp package
on the compute node.
