Learn about license information for the IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack product.

The IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack product includes a default trial license, with a 90-day trial period on all platforms, except for z/VM®. On z/VM, it has a perpetual trial period. You can use this license to investigate IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack. In order for IBM to service IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack, you need to update the trial license to a permanent license.

Licenses may be required for multiple systems:
  • If you install IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack on an IBM Power® system or x86 system, licenses are required for each socket on the system that is running IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack. Licenses are also required for each socket on a system that is being managed by IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack.
  • If you install IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack on a z Systems® system, or are managing a z Systems system with IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack, a managed engine license is required for each z Systems engine that is running the program or being managed by the program.
