Configuring IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service properties
This section contains information about the IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service configuration property files in the home directory and the values that you can modify.
The /.SCE43 directory is the IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service home directory and contains all of the IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service configuration property files and log files. On Linux platforms, the default location is the /var/opt/ibm directory.
The authentication.properties file settings for IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service interface with your cloud manager. The other features provide flexibility and convenience.
To configure basic properties and features of IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service, you can modify properties that are defined within the configuration files in the home directory. These configuration files include the following properties:
- authentication.properties
- Specifies the user authentication type to use for IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service.
- database.properties
- Specifies the database type and path.
- email.properties
- Specifies email notification capabilities.
- cloud.properties
- Specifies the common configuration of IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service and the URL for the User Guide documentation.
- deployment.properties
- Specifies properties for configurations of virtual appliances to simplify deployments for cloud users.
- logging.properties
- Specifies self-service portal log file properties.
- metering.properties
- Enables metering for cloud resources upon deployment.
- web.properties
- Specifies properties for the user interface configuration.
- server.properties
- Specifies properties for enabling the optional Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) configuration.
- If you modify these properties while the self-service portal server is active, you must stop and restart IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service for the new property values to take effect.
- The IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service user interface language is determined from the browser language settings. To change the language in IBM Cloud Manager - Self Service, change the browser language settings.
