Updating schema repositories without connections

You can update the properties of a schema repository created with a version of Rational® ClearQuest® earlier than 2001.04.00 without using a connection.

About this task

If your environment includes a schema repository that was created with a version of Rational ClearQuest software earlier than 2001.04.00, you cannot access that schema repository through a connection. However, if you must use the database vendor tools to move the schema repository, you can update its properties without having to associate it with a connection.

The following procedure describes how to update information about the physical location of a schema repository created with a version of ClearQuest earlier than 2001.04.00 without using a connection.

Procedure

Start the Maintenance Tool. Then click Schema Repository > Update Properties > Other.
In the Schema Repository Properties window, select the vendor of the database that you are using for the schema repository, and enter the required properties, including the new location. The properties are different for each database vendor. For more information, see Vendor database parameters.
Click Next. When the information is updated, click Exit.
Give users the information they need to connect to the schema repository with the applicable version of ClearQuest.
