Installing Portlet specific features during liberty server installation from within the IDE

You can install the Portlet Container and Portlet Serving features during the liberty server installation from within the IDE.

Procedure

In the workbench, click Window > Show View > Servers.
In the Server view, right-click and select New > Server.
From the server type list, expand IBM, select the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile server type, and then click Next.
On the Liberty Profile Runtime Environment page, in the How do you want to create the runtime environment? section, select Install from an archive or a repository and click Next.
On the Install Runtime Environment page, in the Enter the destination path field, either type the path for the new directory where you want to install the Liberty profile runtime environment or browse to the path, and then click Next.
Select Download and install a new runtime environment from, choose the download site, and then click Next.
On the Install Add-ons page, search for the Portlet Container and Portlet Serving features and click the Install button to install the features on the Liberty profile runtime environment.
After you complete your selection on the Install Add-ons page, click Next.
On the License Acceptance page, if you accept the license terms and conditions, select I accept the terms of all the license agreements and then click Next.
In the Liberty Profile Server dialog box, click Finish.
