You can upload a different BOM, import or export your map customizations, choose a
different map style, show or hide entity overlays, and revert to the default settings.
About this task
Manage the settings by selecting items from the menu in the upper right corner of the map.
Procedure
- You can modify the BOM file in your solution and have the changes reflected on the map. After
you modify and save your BOM file, upload it again in Insight Map Viewer by selecting Upload
BOM. Choose the file that you modified, and deploy it again. Your updates are displayed
on the map.
- When you customize the entities in your map, the changes are saved automatically. You can
export your current configuration or import an existing one.
- To export the configuration of a map after you customized the entities, select
Export settings. The settings are exported as a JSON file.
- To import a configuration for the solution that is displayed on the map, select
Import settings. When you import an existing configuration, you do not need
to upload the BOM file.
- By default, the underlying map layer that is displayed in Insight Map Viewer is Open Street Map. To choose an
alternative base layer, go to the menu, and select Choose a map. You can then
select the map that you want to display as the base layer. The blank or black backgrounds can be
useful if your solution has entities defined as regions and the relationships between the regions is
more important than their relationship to other geographical features.
- To delete your map configuration, select Clean up. The configuration of
the map and any customizations that you applied to entities are erased from the map. To view
entities from your solution again, you must reselect your deployed project in the drop-down list,
and upload the BOM file again.
