Editing template response files

A template response file is provided at installation time so that you can adapt it to your installation requirements.

Before you begin

You must install a component to obtain the template response file.

About this task

After the installation is complete, go to the directory <InstallDir>/doc/silent to find the template response file. Edit the template response file to reflect what you want to install on your workstations.

Procedure

  1. Locate the template response file that you want to adapt.
    • <InstallDir>/doc/silent/odm_silent.xml for Operational Decision Manager
    • <InstallDir>/doc/silent/CIS_silent.xml for Decision Server Insights
  2. Open it in a text editor and replace the placeholders delimited with the! character with the actual value.

    In the <InstallDir>/doc/silent/odm_silent.xml file:

    • Replace !PTR_REPOSITORY! with the installation repository for Profile Templates for Decision Server Rules.
    • Replace !PTE_REPOSITORY! with the installation repository for Profile Templates for Decision Server Events.
    • Replace !PTDC_REPOSITORY! with the installation repository for Profile Templates for Decision Center.
    • Replace !INSTALL_LOCATION! with the installation path for Operational Decision Manager components.
    • Replace !WAS_REPOSITORY! with the installation repository for WebSphere® Application Server.

    In the <InstallDir>/doc/silent/CIS_silent.xml file:

    • Replace !CIS_REPOSITORY! with the installation repository for Decision Server Insights.
    • Replace !CIS_HOME! with the installation path for Decision Server Insights.
The list of the product component features are given in the response file. Replace the features placeholder with the feature that you would like to install.
  3. To create a new package group, edit the profile id placeholder as well as the profile value associated to each offering id. For more information, see Response file commands.
  4. Save your changes.

What to do next

Save the configured response file and use it on all of the workstations you want to install it on.
