Description

The Workflow Engine sample shows you how to simplify the Enterprise console for pure business users. In this sample, business users are assigned tasks that they complete and manage using a customized interface.

A business process is a collection of related, structured activities that produce a service or product. A Workflow Model is the formal description of a business process, written in XML, that defines the steps and tasks assigned to users in the business process. In Decision Center, a Workflow Instance is an instance of a Workflow Model.

The key features of this sample include:
  • Adding custom tabs to the Enterprise console

  • Adding custom buttons to the Enterprise console toolbar

  • Customizing the Decision Center model to add new properties to a business rule

  • Using fine-grain, context based rule edit and delete permissions

  • Using permanent links

  • Using a custom session controller
