You can connect a Decision Center component or a Decisions
component to an existing Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
with IBM® Tivoli® Directory Server.
About this task
A user registry (Tivoli Directory
Server) cloud component represents a pattern-deployed Lightweight
Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) service that can be deployed by itself
or attached to a web application component or an enterprise application component.
Procedure
In the Virtual Application Builder window,
complete the following steps.
- In the left panel of the window, expand the User
Registry Components list of assets.
- Select the component Existing User Registry
(IBM Tivoli Directory Server) or User Registry
(Tivoli Directory Server) and drag it in the canvas.
- Link the Decision Center and Decisions components to the
user registry component. To make a connection between an
application component and the existing user registry, hover over the
blue circle on the application component in the canvas. When the
blue circle turns yellow, draw a connection between the application
component and the existing user registry.
- In the right panel of the window, edit the User
Registry or Existing User Registry properties
(depending on the component you are connecting to), as needed.
- In the canvas, click the link between a Decisions or
a Decision Center component and a user registry
component.
- In the right panel, specify the users and groups to be
mapped to the various Decision Center and Decisions roles (administrator,
deployer, installer, user, for example).
If you do not fill
the rules role mappings, the roles are mapped to the groups defined
in the File Registry. If you do not fill the events role mappings,
the roles are mapped to the WebSphere® Application Server administrator that
is defined in the File Registry.
- Save and deploy the pattern.
Results
When the pattern is deployed and the resulting virtual application
instance is running, your
IBM ODM server
is connected to the LDAP server
