Configuring the discovery profile

The TPCStorageSensor is enabled by default in the discovery profile.

Create a new profile to modify the following attributes:
discoverHosts
The default value for the discoverHosts attribute is true. The sensor discovers host-related data, for example, ComputerSystem, disks, FC ports, FC volumes, storage volumes, disk partitions, local file systems, and file system services.
If the value is false, host-related data is not discovered by the sensor.
discoverSwitch
The default value for the discoverSwitch attribute is true. The sensor discovers switch related data, for example, switch, switch ports, and FC ports.
If the value is false, switch related data is not discovered by the sensor.
restrictByScope
The default value for the restrictByScope attribute is false. The sensor discovers all the hosts that the Tivoli® Storage Productivity Center server has already discovered.
If the value is true, the sensor discovers the hosts within the discovery scope range of the sensor.
Fix Pack
3 discoverManagedDisks
The default value for the discoverManagedDisks attribute is false.
If the value is true, the sensor discovers Managed Disks for SVC (storage virtualization layer) with their relationships to the back-end storage.
Note: If you set this attribute to true, the time of discovery and storing of the IBM® Tivoli® Storage Productivity Center sensor is longer, because more data is discovered.

The Host storage sensor and the Fibre Channel switch sensor also discover data related to hosts and switches. When discoverHosts and discoverSwitch are enabled, consider disabling the Host storage sensor and the Fibre Channel switch sensor to prevent resources being discovered twice.
