Configuring Cloud instances for cluster nodes to work with ROHA

You must configure Cloud instances on all PowerHA® cluster nodes to use with Resource Optimized High Availability (ROHA) in Cloud. The information about ROHA in Cloud configuration is used during acquire or release operations of the resources (memory or processing units) in the Cloud environment.

You can use the SMIT interface and the clmgr utility to configure the Cloud instance for IBM® Power® Systems Virtual Servers that is used by the PowerHA SystemMirror® cluster. This feature is supported in PowerHA SystemMirror 7.2.6 SP1, and later.
Note: In PowerHA SystemMirror 7.2.6 SP1, the ROHA in Cloud configuration is supported only for the standard type of cluster configuration.
The following figure describes the high-level details of ROHA in Cloud configuration by using SMIT:

To configure ROHA in Cloud by using SMIT, complete the following steps.

  1. From the command line, enter smit sysmirror
  2. From the SMIT interface, select Cluster Applications and Resources > Resources > Configure User Applications (Scripts and Monitors) > Resource Optimized High Availability > Cloud Configuration, and press Enter.
  3. Select from the following options:
    Add Cloud Instance
    Add the Cloud instance for Power Systems Virtual Servers that is used by the PowerHA SystemMirror cluster.
    Change/Show Cloud Instance
    Change the Cloud instance parameters for a PowerHA SystemMirror site or cluster.
    Remove Cloud Instance
    Delete the ROHA in Cloud configuration.
    Verify and Sync cluster configuration
    Verify and sync the cluster configuration.
