IBM System Dashboard for Enterprise Content Management, Version 5.0.0.2

IBM License Metric Tool counters

IBM® License Metric Tool (ILMT) counters apply to products that use IBM License Metric Tool Usage Reporting (such as IBM FileNet® Content Manager 5.2 FP2).

Dashboard path: HostName > component > USER > ILMT
Property Type Description
Current User List Size Meter The number of distinct user names that are logged on to that server, where "logged on" is defined as causing at least one request or remote procedure call in the last 15 minutes.
Last Collection Meter The last time the IBM License Metric Tool Collector ran and collected user history records from this listener. The Java™ time stamp is returned in the format of: System.currentTimeMillis().
Last Thread Sweep Meter The last time the IBM License Metric Tool internal listener queues were updated. The sweep occurs every 60 seconds. The Java time stamp is returned in the format of: System.currentTimeMillis()
Q1 User Transaction Queue Size Meter The number of entries in the User Transaction Queue (Q1).
Q2 Current User List Size (raw) Meter The number of entries in the raw Current User List (Q2). This counter represents the raw total number of entries in the queue. The number is not necessarily the same as the Current User List Size counter because some 15-minute sessions might expire but the queue is not yet updated.
Q3 User History Queue Size Meter The number of entries in the User History Queue (Q3). The queue size includes the entries that are waiting to be collected by the IBM License Metric Tool Collector process. Run the collection as often as is necessary to prevent this queue from reaching its limit.
User History Queue Max Meter The maximum number of entries that are allowed in the User History Queue (Q3). You can set the value to any size by using the following JVM property: -Dfilenet.pch.ILMT.MAX_HISTORY=user_history_queue_max
Start of changeThe default value depends the version level of the Content Platform Engine software that is installed:
  • For Content Platform Engine v5.2.0.2 and later fix packs, the default is 2500000.
  • For Content Platform Engine v5.2.1, the default is 0, which disables usage analysis and user license compliance reporting.
For more information about how this property affects memory consumption and for guidance on selecting an appropriate value for your system, see technote Reducing memory consumption for Content Engine User History Queue processing.End of change
Important: User History Queue entries are lost if the Q3 User History Queue Size reaches this limit. Use caution in changing the default values.
