Containers are objects that are used to group counters according to purpose and function. Containers can also contain subcontainers and therefore form a hierarchy.
There are two types of containers: static and dynamic. Static containers are always present and always have the same name. Dynamic containers are created at run time and typically have site-specific names. For example, the Content Platform Engine creates a dynamic container that is named for each object store that is defined in the domain.
There are six generic top-level containers that are statically defined and always present for every listener.
