After you prepare
FileNet® P8 assets for
deployment in the source environment, you create a deploy data set
of exported objects by exporting the assets that are listed in an
export manifest file. For information about creating an export manifest,
see Create or update
an export manifest. To run this operation, use the FileNet Deployment
Manager user interface, or create
an export operation file for
use with the command-line interface. After you create a deploy data
set from the source environment, the next step is to convert the data set for
the destination environment.
To create a deploy data set:
- In the FileNet Deployment
Manager tree
view pane, open the Environments node, right-click the environment
from which you want to export, then select Export from
the menu. Alternatively, you can open the Export Manifests node within
the environment node from which you want to export, right-click the
export manifest file that you want to use, then select Export from
the menu.
- In the Export Options dialog box, specify the following
export options:
Option |
Description |
Export Manifest File: |
Enter the path and file name of an export manifest file. If
you initiate this dialog box by selecting Export directly
from an export manifest file in the Export Manifests node, the field
is pre-filled with the path and file name of an export manifest file. |
Output Folder for Deploy Data set: |
Enter the directory where you want to deploy the data set,
for example, P8DeploymentData/Environments/<source_environment>/Assets. |
Deploy Data set Name: |
Enter a name to identify the set of data that will be exported
from the Content Platform Engine,
and to distinguish the data set from existing or future data sets
that you might create. FileNet Deployment
Manager creates
a directory with the name that you enter and places the exported data
into this directory. The data set directory of exported data includes
a set of files and a Content folder where exported content is stored.
For subsequent exports, you can create new data set directories
or use existing ones. If you export to an existing data set directory,
you are given the choice of overwriting the contents of the previous
export operation or canceling the operation.
|
- Click OK.
FileNet Deployment
Manager uses the export manifest
file to generate a deploy data set of exported objects.
