IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2

Annotations

IBM® FileNet® Image Services annotations can be copied to FileNet P8 automatically when the FileNet Image Services catalog data is exported. Annotations that are created on FileNet P8 are replicated to FileNet Image Services manually.

When the document properties are exported from FileNet Image Services to FileNet P8, any associated annotations are automatically copied to the FileNet P8 system if the Export Annotations option is enabled in the System Configuration Editor (the fn_edit tool).

Any annotations that are added on the FileNet Image Services system later are automatically copied to the FileNet P8 Platform.

You can copy the annotations to documents whose properties were exported to FileNet P8 before FileNet P8 V4.0 by exporting the FileNet Image Services catalog data again.

When a new version of an annotated document is created, annotations are not copied or reattached to the new version.

You must explicitly assign the replication group to the annotations in order to replicate the annotation with the document. The exception is in the Workplace XT application: if you create annotations in Workplace XT, and the annotated document is a replicated document, Workplace XT assigns the replication group to the annotation that matches the replication group of the annotated document.

Tip: When you view annotations in Workplace XT or Workplace, you might not see the entire annotation. Right-click the annotation and expand the border. For Workplace, if you cannot expand the border, change the filenetAlwaysRubberband option in WorkplaceInstallDirectory\UI-INF\jsp\ui\WcmJavaViewer.jsp to FALSE. The next time you log on to Workplace, the full annotation will be visible.
The following objects can be replicated to a FileNet Image Services system:
