Deleting objects by creating a policy sweep

Use the New Disposal Policy wizard to create a disposal policy, which is a set of criteria for selecting objects to delete in a sweep. The selection criteria, which are known as filter conditions, can include property states such as the age of a document.

Procedure

To create a disposal policy:

  1. Start the New Disposal Policy wizard in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, select the Sweep Management > Sweep Policies > Disposal Policies folder.
    3. Click New.
  2. Optional: Select the Enabled property to enable the sweep. (The sweep cannot run unless it is enabled.) You might want to enable the sweep later, however, because some sweep properties can be set only after sweep creation. In particular, the property that affects sweep performance by determining when sweep conditions are evaluated can be set only after sweep creation.
  3. Complete the wizard.
