You can create thumbnail images for content elements either by requesting an image for a particular content element or by using event-based generation or sweep-based generation to have images generated automatically.
You can store, generate, and manage document thumbnails. The Content Engine Thumbnail Extensions add-on supports automatically generating thumbnails. Thumbnails can also be generated by a third-party application and stored in an object store. Thumbnails cannot be created for annotations.
After the Content Engine Thumbnail Extensions add-on is installed, thumbnails are created for new documents, but existing documents do not automatically have thumbnails generated for them until a thumbnail generation sweep job is created and run.
Oracle Outside In Image Export does not support thumbnail generation for all formats, such as audio and video files.
