Converting WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources manually

Convert a WebSphere® Enterprise Service Bus mediation module into an IBM® Integration Bus application or integration service manually.

In IBM Integration Bus, you can convert a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation module into an application or an integration service manually.
  • An integration service is a specialized application with a defined interface that acts as a container for a web services solution. An integration service contains subflows to implement the specified service operations. The interface is defined by using WSDL. The transport protocol that is supported is SOAP over HTTP. For more information, see Integration services.
  • An application is a container for all the resources that are required to create an integration solution. For more information, see Applications and libraries.

In WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, a service is defined in terms of a WSDL service interface, regardless of the message formats or protocols.

Complete the following steps to manually recreate a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus service:

  1. Identify whether a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation module converts to an IBM Integration Bus application or an integration service. For more information, see Choosing the target integration solution type.
  2. Use the WSDL file that defines a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation module to create resources manually in IBM Integration Bus. For more information, see Converting a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus service definition manually.
  3. Convert a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation module that is implemented with a mediation flow component into message flows and subflows. For more information, see Converting a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus service implementation manually.
  4. Convert a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus service invocation style to the equivalent synchronous or asynchronous invocation style.
  5. Configure the Transactional Mode property and the Coordinated Transaction property in IBM Integration Bus to define the equivalent transactional behavior of a mediation module. For more information, see Converting a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus service transactional behavior manually.
