Creating a WebSphere ESB conversion session

Create a WebSphere® ESB conversion session for each group of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources that you want to convert together into IBM® Integration Bus resources.

Before you start:

Prepare WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources; see Preparing WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources for conversion.

A WebSphere ESB conversion session contains the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus that you want to convert, your WebSphere ESB conversion session configuration choices, and your conversion results.

When you create a WebSphere ESB conversion session, a file with the extension .conversion is created. This file contains your conversion choices and the results of your conversion.

You can open the WebSphere ESB conversion session file at any time to modify your conversion configuration choices or to examine your conversion results.

To create a WebSphere ESB conversion session, complete the following steps:

  1. Required: Select an existing project to store your WebSphere ESB conversion session file.
    • By default, the WebSphere ESB conversion session file is stored in the project WESB_conversions in the Application Development view under Independent resources.
    • If you want to create your own project to store your WebSphere ESB conversion session file, click New. Enter a name for your project, then click Finish. The project is created under Independent resources in the Application Development view.
    • You can choose an existing project available in the Application Development view.
  2. Required: Enter a name for the WebSphere ESB conversion session file name.

A WebSphere ESB conversion session starts and a WebSphere ESB conversion session filename is created.
