Support for 32-bit and 64-bit platforms

IBM® Integration Bus operates in 32-bit mode or 64-bit mode, on supported operating systems.

The following table shows support for 32-bit and 64-bit mode. Changes since Version 6.1 are summarized beneath the table. If support on your platform has changed, you might need to make additional changes to your configuration. See Migrating the Version 6.1 WebSphere Message Broker component and Configuring brokers for test and production environments for further details.

Changes since Version 6.1:
  1. On this platform, you can no longer create or run with 32-bit integration servers. Integration servers can be only 64-bit mode.
  2. On the Windows 64-bit and Linux on x86-64 platforms, you can install either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of IBM Integration Bus.

Integration servers

You can create an integration server by using one of the following:
  • IBM Integration Toolkit
  • IBM Integration Explorer
  • mqsicreateexecutiongroup command
  • CMP

If you do not specify the size of integration server that you require, the size that is created depends on how you create it, and the version of the target broker to which you deploy it. The following default values apply:
