Adding keywords to XSL style sheets

Embedded keywords in an XSL style sheet; their location is not restricted. You can also add a keyword as an XML comment.

XML comments must have the following format:
$MQSI keyword = value MQSI$
The example shows how to add the keyword of author with the value John to an XML style sheet:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8">
<!-- $MQSI author = John MQSI$ -->
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output method="text" encoding="UTF-8"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:value-of select="message"/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

Restrictions within keywords

Do not use the following characters within keywords, because they might cause unpredictable behavior:
^ $ . | \ < > ? + * = & [ ] ( )
You can use these characters in the values that are associated with keywords; for example:
  • $MQSI RCSVER=$id$ MQSI$ is acceptable
  • $MQSI $name=Fred MQSI$ is not acceptable
