Coexistence and migration

Learn about migrating to IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack Version 4.0 from previous versions and the restrictions on using more than one installation of IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack.

About this task

Be aware of the following restrictions on installing multiple copies of IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack:
  • Windows platformOn Windows, you cannot install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack on a computer that has an existing installation of IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack or IBM WebSphere® Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare. Uninstall all previous installations of any version before you install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack Version 4.0.
  • Linux platformUNIX platformOn Linux® and UNIX systems, you can install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack on a computer that has IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack or IBM WebSphere Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare installed. Each new installation of IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack must be installed to a different single-user installation of IBM Integration Bus.
Be aware of the following information if you install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack on a computer that has more than one instance of IBM Integration Bus installed:
  • Windows platformOn Windows, IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack is installed to all supported instances of IBM Integration Bus that are installed on the same computer. If you later install a new instance of IBM Integration Bus to that computer, to use IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack with that instance you must uninstall and then reinstall IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack.
  • Linux platformUNIX platformOn Linux and UNIX systems, you choose the instance of IBM Integration Bus to use when you install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack. If you later install a new single-user instance of IBM Integration Bus under the same user, or a new multi-user instance, to use IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack with that instance you must uninstall and then reinstall IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack.

If you want to update an existing installation of IBM WebSphere Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare or IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack Version 3.0 to IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack Version 4.0, migrate your installation.

Procedure

To migrate, complete the following steps:

  1. Optional: Undeploy any message flows that use the DICOMInput, DICOMOutput, or DICOMFindMove nodes.
  2. Stop all integration nodes on the computer that contains the installation that you want to migrate.
  3. Close the IBM Integration Toolkit.
  4. Uninstall your existing IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack or IBM WebSphere Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare installation.
  5. Update your IBM Integration Bus or WebSphere Message Broker installation to the required version; for example, to migrate from WebSphere Message Broker Version 7.0, complete the installation and migration steps for IBM Integration Bus. For more information, see the Migrating section of the product documentation for IBM Integration Bus.
  6. Install IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack.
  7. Restart your integration nodes.

Results

You have migrated to IBM Integration Bus Healthcare Pack Version 4.0. Complete one or more of the following steps, if required:
  • Rebuild any BAR files in your new installation before you deploy them.
  • Regenerate any instances of the Healthcare: Home Health pattern before you deploy them.
  • To view patterns in web-based monitoring, you must regenerate any patterns that you created in IBM WebSphere Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare and any instances of the Healthcare: HIPAA to XML pattern.

Note: When you open IBM Integration Toolkit for the first time after you migrate, run with the -clean option.
