Supported migration paths

You can migrate to IBM® Integration Bus Version 10.0 from previous versions of the product.

Note: For the latest details of all supported levels of hardware and software, see the IBM Integration Bus system requirements website.
You can migrate to IBM Integration Bus Version 10.0 from the following previous versions:
  • WebSphere® Message Broker Version 7.01
  • WebSphere Message Broker with Rules and Formatter Extension Version 7.01 2
  • WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.03
  • IBM Integration Bus Version 9.03
Notes:
  1. You can migrate Version 7.0 products at Fix Pack 5 (Version 7.0.0.5) or later, but you must first ensure your WebSphere MQ installation is at a supported version, by upgrading if necessary.
  2. You can migrate to IBM Integration Bus Version 10.0 only if you do not use the additional features that are provided by Rules and Formatter, or you choose not to use them after migration. To take advantage of equivalent functionality in Version 10.0, you must redesign your applications.
  3. You do not need to apply maintenance to your WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0 or IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0 installation before you migrate to IBM Integration Bus Version 10.0, but you must first ensure your WebSphere MQ installation is at a supported version, by upgrading if necessary.

You can migrate from IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0 or WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0 or Version 7.0 only to a full edition of IBM Integration Bus Version 10.0, Remote Adapter Deployment, Express Edition, or Standard Edition. Do not migrate integration nodes from an earlier version to the Developer Edition.

If you choose to migrate integration nodes by using the mqsimigratecomponents command, the integration node is migrated in its current mode. If you purchased the Remote Adapter Deployment, Express Edition, or Standard Edition, you must change the mode of all your migrated integration nodes to comply with the terms of your license. For more information, see Changing the operation mode of your integration nodes.
