Resolving general and broker data collection errors

Scenario: While collecting data in console mode with IBM® Support Assistant Data Collector, you receive the following error:

An unrecoverable error has occurred and the collection has been aborted.
Please review the logs located in /home/wmqiuser/.isadc/log.

Explanation: If the syslog.conf file specifies multiple log files to record syslog output, and if one of those files is unable to be read by the user that is running mqsidc (that is, it does not have read permission), then the General and Broker collection aborts and reports this error. Data collection is stopped.
Solution: Ensure that the user who is running the mqsidc command has read permissions to all the log files that are specified in syslog.conf.
