Record length requirements
The maximum supported record length (LRECL) is 32760 bytes. Fixed
record length data sets and in-stream data sets are examined to determine
if their records contain sequence numbers. If sequence numbers exist,
they are assumed to consist of eight contiguous numeric characters
occupying the last eight bytes of the input record. If a record is
found to contain a sequence number, the length of the input record
is adjusted to remove the sequence number.
Note: Ensure
that you do not place numeric data that is intended as parameter data
in the final eight characters of fixed length records or in-stream
data records.
