ZOSMIGV2R2_Next_CS_TFTP
- Description:
- Checks whether the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) daemon is in use on this system. Support for the TFTP daemon will be withdrawn in a future release of IBM z/OS Communications Server. If this check determines that TFTP daemon has been invoked on this system, it will continue to be reported for the duration of this IPL, or as long as this Migration Health Check is active. When this exception condition is detected, message ISTM032E is issued and is followed by message ISTM900I that indicates the date and time that the TFTP daemon was last invoked, even if the TFTP daemon has been removed from the system or usage of it has stopped. Therefore, if this exception has been corrected, for example, TFTP daemon no longer being used on the system, you can use message ISTM900I to determine whether a new use of the TFTP daemon has been detected, or whether the exception condition is related to the earlier detection of the TFTP daemon.
- Reason for check:
- Because TFTP on z/OS will no longer be supported in a future release of the IBM z/OS Communications Server, IBM suggests that customers who currently use or plan to use TFTP, use an alternate file transfer program.
- z/OS® releases the check applies to:
- z/OS V2R1 with the PTFs for APARs OA50445 and PI61806 applied, z/OS V2R2 with the PTFs for APARs OA50445 and PI61806 applied .
- User override of IBM values:
- The following sample shows the defaults for customizable
values for this check. Use this sample to make permanent check
customizations in an HZSPRMxx parmlib member used at
IBM Health Checker for z/OS startup. If you just want a one-time
only update to the check defaults, omit the first line (ADDREPLACE POLICY)
and use the UPDATE statement on a MODIFY hzsproc command.
Note that using non-POLICY UPDATEs in HZSPRMxx can
lead to unexpected results and is therefore not recommended.
ADDREPLACE POLICY[(policyname)] [STATEMENT(name)] UPDATE CHECK(IBMCS,ZOSMIGV2R2_Next_CS_TFTP) DATE(’date of the change’) REASON(’Your reason for making the update’) INACTIVE SEVERITY(LOW) INTERVAL(24:00)
