catanh(), catanhf(), catanhl() — Calculate the complex arc hyperbolic tangent
Standards
Standards / Extensions | C or C++ | Dependencies |
---|---|---|

both | z/OS V1R7 |
Format
#include <complex.h>
double complex catanh(double complex z);
float complex catanhf(float complex z);
long double complex catanhl(long double complex z);
General description
The catanh() family
of functions compute the complex arc hyperbolic tangent of z,
with branch cuts outside the interval [-1, +1] along the real axis.
Note: The
following table shows the viable formats for these functions. See IEEE binary floating-point for more information about IEEE
Binary Floating-Point.
Function | Hex | IEEE |
---|---|---|
catanh | X | X |
catanhf | X | X |
catanhl | X | X |
Returned value
The catanh() family of functions return the complex arc hyperbolic tangent value, in the range of a strip, mathematically unbounded along the real axis and in the interval [-i π/2, +i π/2] along the imaginary axis.
Example
For an example of a similar function see cacos(), cexp() or cpow().
