Mapped conversations describe conversations in which the data to be sent and exchanged is in some form other than logical records. The conversation partners cannot directly issue the VTAM® APPCCMD macroinstructions to send and receive data. Instead, they must rely on some other portion of the application program to map the data to be transmitted into logical records. This processing part of the application program then issues the VTAM APPCCMD macroinstructions.
