Meeting software and hardware requirements associated with the zAAPs

To use zAAPs, there are certain software and hardware requirements. The minimum software requirements are:

With regard to the IBM SDK 1.4 requirement, you should be aware that several products include or require the SDK. The level of SDK that has been included or required, may or may not meet the requirements to use zAAPs. For instance if you are a WebSphere® Application Server user, WebSphere Application Server V5.0.2 has included and requires the SDK at the V1R3 level, which does not meet this requirement. However, WebSphere Application Server V5.1 has included and requires the SDK at the 1.4 level which does meet this requirement. It is important to understand which SDK level you are using with your products, and to ensure that you meet the requirements when using zAAPs. Failure to run with the required IBM SDK level means that Java workload will not execute on zAAPs.
