The installation must activate the collection function on every MVS/ESA image. The SMFPRMxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB controls the collection process. You might need to make changes to your current SYS parameter to activate the collection of SMF type 89 records. Although you can continue to collect other types of SMF records, you need only type 89 subtype 2 records for product registration reporting.
