Explanation
XCF determined that the system initializing the
sysplex has not completed initialization. No other systems can IPL
into the sysplex until the initialization system completes cleanup
of the couple data set.
The system initializing the sysplex
started clearing the couple data set, but has not completed for one
of the following reasons:
- The system failed and the IPL ended.
- The system is running slowly because of a system or hardware problem.
- The system is running as a guest on a Virtual Machine (VM) and
is not receiving sufficient service units to complete the cleanup.
- The couple data sets are large and take a while to clear.
In the message text:
- sysname
- The system that started sysplex initialization.
- hh:mm:ss
- The time that system sysname started sysplex
initialization. The time is in hours (00-23), minutes (00-59), and
seconds (00-59).
System action
This system temporarily stops until the operator
enters a reply. If the operator replies incorrectly, the system issues
message IXC208I and reissues message IXC403D.
Operator response
Choose one of the following replies:
- W
- To request that this system wait for system sysname to
complete sysplex initialization by clearing the couple data set.
- I
- To request that this system should take over sysplex initialization.
If system sysname is still running, it will eventually
detect that another system has taken over sysplex initialization and
will wait until the couple data set cleanup is complete before it
IPLs into the sysplex.
