PC/AUTH SERVICES ARE INOPERABLE

Explanation

The system gave Program Call/authorization (PC/AUTH) recovery control. PC/AUTH recovery was unable to successfully validate the PC/AUTH control blocks. This can be caused by an abend code X'053'.

System action

The system issues an SVC dump. In most cases, tasks running when the error occurred continue normally, and the Program Call (PC) instruction and other cross-memory instructions can still be used. After the error, programs that attempt to use PC/AUTH services are abended with system completion code X'053' reason code X'nn98'.

System programmer response

Do the following:
  • Obtain the SVC dump for this message.
  • If abend X'053' with a reason code other than X'nn98' accompanies this message, see the system programmer response for abend code X'053'.
  • If the message is not accompanied by abend X'053', search problem reporting data bases for a fix for the problem. If no fix exists, contact the IBM® Support Center. Provide the dump.
