System programmer response

Action: Restore the dump options using the CHNGDUMP SET options found in your installation's COMMNDxx member (or defaulted in IEACMD00) to re-establish the ability of the system to collect SVC dumps. SVC dumps may have been disabled due to resource constraints. However, once those constraints were dealt with, it is advantageous to re-enable this serviceability function.

IBM® Suggestion: Always keep the ability of the system to take SVC Dumps enabled. A couple dire circumstances where the taking of SVC dumps may need to be disabled are: when an application appears to be generating an endless stream of SVC dumps; or when paging resources are running low due to a number of SVC dumps being captured.
