ACTION TAKEN: action
DIAG INFO: diaginfo

Explanation

An error has occurred for the specified hardware accelerator device, and the system is attempting to recover the device. Message FPG004I or FPG005I is issued once this recovery action is complete.

In the message text:
pfid
The PCIE function identifier associated with the device.
reasontext
The reason why recovery was initiated for the device, which can be one of the following:
EXCESSIVE DEVICE BUSY CONDITION
When trying to notify a device that work has been queued, the device reported a busy condition for an extended period of time
DEVICE STOPPED DUE TO ERROR
Work was submitted to the device; however, the device detected an error, and the processing of the work queue was stopped.
AN ACTIVE REQUEST HAS NOT COMPLETED
The device has been working on a request for an excessive period of time without completing the request.
QUEUED REQUESTS ARE NOT STARTING
Queued work requests are not being processed by the device.
MISSING INTERRUPT CONDITION DETECTED
A work request that specified that an interrupt should be presented upon completion was marked completed by the device; however, no interrupt was received.
UNRECOVERABLE ERROR OCCURRED FOR THE DEVICE
The device entered an unrecoverable error state while processing requests.
reqcnt
The number of requests that were waiting to be processed by the device on this system when recovery was initiated.
action
Can be one of the following recovery actions to be taken:
HARDWARE DUMP REQUESTED
A hardware dump has been requested for the affected device. Once the dump completes, the system will deallocate and reallocate the device in an attempt to recover the device.
REALLOCATE DEVICE
The system will deallocate and reallocate the device in an attempt to recover the device.
INTERVENTION REQUIRED
Either all prior attempts to recover the device have failed or the maximum number of recovery attempts within a period of time has been exceeded. Manual intervention is required to recover the device.
diaginfo
Diagnostic information that can be provided to the IBM® Support Center.

System action

The action is taken. If the action is not INTERVENTION REQUIRED, message FPG004I or FPG005A is issued once recovery is complete to indicate whether device recovery is successful or unsuccessful. If the action is INTERVENTION REQUIRED, the device is put into the intervention required state, and no further recovery actions are taken. In all cases, work that was previously submitted to this device is routed to another device, if one is available.

Operator response

If action is INTERVENTION REQUIRED, configure the device offline and then online in an attempt to recover the device. If this fails, contact the IBM Support Center. If action is not INTERVENTION REQUIRED, look for message FPG004I or FPG005I to see if recovery was successful or if additional actions are required.
