RETURN CODE return_code, REASON CODE reason_code, OBTAINING STATUS OF FILE pathname.

Explanation

The system was unable to obtain the status of the file because of the condition indicated by the return code and the reason code shown.

In the message text:
return_code
The return code received from the stat request.
reason_code
The reason code received from the stat request. For an explanation of the return code and reason code, see z/OS UNIX System Services Messages and Codes.
pathname
Start of change The path name of the HFS file. If the pathname is longer than 64 characters, it is truncated. End of change

Processing for the command ends.

User response

The return code and reason code that were returned with this message indicate what caused the problem. Correct the error, and then reenter the request.
